Remember in the Mastery section of the 5M Formula For Your Ultimate Life (link), when I made the following observation?
(If you haven’t read the 5M Formula yet, you’re officially grounded until you do). Click here to grab it!
For any skill in life you can think of, there are other people who have:
Let’s take this a step further and talk about what to do with this to get your life in greater flow and harmony than ever before…
I don’t know where or why the idea of “working on your weaknesses” started, but the very notion of it, is on its face, non-sensical.
Here’s why…
Creating your Ultimate Vida is all about making a life for yourself of freedom, with the power to choose how and where you spend your time.
Yes, action happens and results happen too. But it all happens with a smooth, easy flow.
And it’s damn near impossible to get that flow if you’re working on your weaknesses.
There are three key levels to this:
The Money Producing Level
By definition, if you’re working on a weakness, it’s something you’re not very good at. Which means that:
The Joy and Happiness Level
This one is pretty simple, but about as important as it gets. No matter who we are or where we come from, we all have only 24 hours a day and a limited amount of time in this life.
Shouldn’t we make each moment count by spending our precious time on things we’re good at, and actually enjoy doing?
Is there anything in life more important, really?
I guarantee you that no one on their death bed has ever wished they’d spent more time on their weaknesses, or less time doing what they love. In fact, it’s quite the opposite.
The Humanitarian Level
I believe we all have a responsibility to contribue to humanity and the greater good.
But even beyond responsibility, haven’t you noticed that when you do something to help someone else, you get a deep feeling of satisfaction?
It just feels good.
Well, here’s the brilliant thing…
Simply getting out of the way and letting someone do something they’re good at and you’re not is a great way to be of service and is also the ultimate win-win.
And as a very nice bonus, it will almost always get you a better result, as well!
Whether that result is making more money, learning a new skill, or whatever the case may be.
So go forth, my Ultimate Vida friends, and do more of what you’re good at, and leave the rest to others!
This can involve obvious solutions like hiring things out, or more creative solutions like barter or collaboration.
Comment below, and inspire us with examples of how you apply this in your own life, or with any questions you may have of how to put it into action, and I’ll be sure to chime in!
